김덕현 협의회장은 행사에서 “북한이탈주민들이 새로운 환경에 적응하는 과정에서 마주하는 어려움을 충분히 챙기지 못한 점이 늘 마음에 남아 있었다”며 “오늘 김장 담그기가 겨울을 준비하는 데 작은 도움이 되고, 서로를 이해하는 계기가 되길 바란다”고 밝혔다.
