구리농수산물공사(사장 김진수)는 지난 15일 물정화처리장 등 밀폐공간 작업이 이뤄지는 시설의 현장근무자를 대상으로 '밀폐공간 질식사고 예방 특별안전교육'을 실시했다고 밝혔다.

 

이번 교육은 여름철 고온다습한 환경에서 산소 부족이나 유해가스 발생으로 인한 질식사고 위험이 높아지는 점을 고려해 마련됐다. 교육에서는 밀폐공간 출입 전 산소 및 유해가스 농도 측정 방법을 비롯해 적정 공기 유지를 위한 환기 요령, 송기마스크 등 보호구 착용법, 비상 상황 발생 시 구조 절차 등 현장 실무에 필요한 안전수칙을 중점적으로 다뤘다.

 

교육 이후에는 '종사자 안전보건소통협의회'를 열어 현장 근로자들과 함께 작업환경에서 발생할 수 있는 유해·위험요인을 공유하고 개선 방안을 논의했다. 공사는 현장 의견을 안전관리 정책에 반영해 예방 중심의 안전보건 체계를 강화한다는 방침이다.

 

폭염 대응도 병행하고 있다. 공사는 연일 이어지는 무더위 속에서 야외 작업을 수행하는 근로자의 열사병과 탈진 등 온열질환 예방을 위해 현장에 시원한 생수를 상시 비치·지급하고 있다.
