앞서 관내 초교에 4월 1일부터 22일까지 3주간 그림그리기 캠페인을 홍보 및 접수 하였으며 관내 24초교 중 19개교가 참가하고 1,919점이 제출되었다. 이어 4월 26일 과 5월 2일 이틀 간 미술교육 전공자등 외부위원을 초빙하여 심사를 진행해 수상작 20점을 최종 선정했다.

한편 수상작은 경찰서 전시를 시작으로 5∼6월 간 학사일정에 따라 관내 초등학교 및 지하철 역사에 전시 할 예정이다.

남양주북부경찰서장은 “아동학대 및 학교폭력 예방을 위한 캠페인그림그리기에 작년보다 두배 많은 적극적인 참여를 해주셔서 감사하며 캠페인으로 인해 우리 아이들이 보다 더 안전하고 행복한 학교가 되길 바란다.”고 말했다.
