(Jungnang = Break News, northeastern part of Gyeonggi) = Jungnang-gu (Chairman Ryu Gyeonggi) held a Jang (Mi) Han (Pongi) Festival to celebrate the completion of the Senior Citizens Culture Center and Somang Children's Park in Muk 2-dong Rose Village, where the urban regeneration revitalization project is in full swing.

The Senior Citizens Culture Center (237-50 Muk-dong), which held its opening ceremony on the 26th, is the first community-use facility built with the investment of the Muk 2-dong urban regeneration project. The existing Hanyang Senior Citizens Hall was demolished and construction started in October last year, and it was built from the first basement floor to the fourth floor.

In addition to the existing space for senior citizens from the first to second floors above the ground, a multi-purpose room for cultural programs will be built on the first basement floor, a shared kitchen on the third floor, and a greenhouse garden on the fourth floor.

Somang Children's Park (240-100 Muk-dong), located near the Cultural Center, is also an eco-friendly creative playground created as part of the urban regeneration project. The roof structure is installed on the outdoor playground equipment so that children can play even in the rain or on a hot day. There is also an indoor toddler playground and exercise equipment for young children, so the whole family can enjoy.

At the Janghan Festival held from the 26th to the 27th, a one-day class, a rose photo zone, a family experience program, and congratulatory messages were operated so that residents could celebrate the completion of the cultural center and children's park together. In particular, it attracted attention by exhibiting the results of the residents through the urban regeneration resident contest and selling cutting boards and rose eco-bags made by the residents themselves.

Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “I hope that the Senior Citizens Culture Center and Somang Children’s Park will become spaces full of vitality for the residents of Muk 2-dong. It will be a street,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Muk2-dong urban regeneration revitalization project was selected as a New Deal project by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport in 2018, and a total of 51 urban regeneration projects will be carried out by next year. The village management office, family library, and youth culture power plant, which are common facilities for residents, will be created along with the Rose Flower Street to provide a pleasant environment to the residents.
