(Jungnang = Break News Northeast Gyeonggi) = The Myeonmok-dong area urban regeneration recognition project in connection with the autonomous home improvement project was selected for the first time in the country, and its legal feasibility was recognized. 48 village parking lots will be built through the project, which is expected to greatly help solve the parking problem in residential areas, a long-cherished dream of Myeonmokbon-dong residents.

Jungnang-gu (Chairman Ryu Gyeonggi) announced on the 25th that as a result of the 8th Seoul Urban Regeneration Committee, the “Urban Regeneration Accreditation Project” around Myeonmok-dong was finalized (conditionally approved).

When a complex apartment complex with 2 basement floors and 7 stories above the ground is built on the project site as part of the autonomous housing maintenance project in the area of 297-28 Myeonmok-dong, the above-ground part (1st to 7th floors) will be provided by Korea Land and Housing Corporation for young people and newlyweds. It is planned to be supplied as public rental housing (No. 60, annexed parking lot, 37) for the purpose of use, and the basement (1st basement to 2nd basement) will be purchased from Jungnang-gu and operated publicly as a village parking lot (48 spaces) for local residents. Each facility is managed as a separate facility with different entrances.

The area around the project site is a hilly area where old townhouses and multi-family houses are densely populated, and the access road and parking space are insufficient, and the area suffered from chronic parking difficulties. When the village parking lot is operated, it is expected that the social and economic ripple effect will be large, such as resolving the parking problem, creating jobs through the employment of facility management personnel, and revitalizing neighboring commercial areas by improving accessibility.

The village parking lot is under construction with the goal of being completed in February next year and operating in April. The parking fee is 50,000 won for a monthly commuter pass and 1,200 won per hour, and an unmanned control system is installed and operated 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. The district plans to operate the village parking lot centered on monthly regular parking tickets centered on local residents.

For the recognition of this project, the district has been in continuous consultation with related organizations such as the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, Seoul Metropolitan Government, and Korea Land and Housing Corporation since May last year. After efforts, it has secured 4.5 billion won, which is 75% of the 5.9 billion won cost required to purchase the village parking lot, from the state and municipal funds.

Ryu Gyeong-gi, Mayor of Jungnang-gu, said, “The small-scale housing maintenance project is expected to have the effect of one seat and three groups, such as renovating old houses, supporting the housing welfare of young people and newlyweds, and creating a village parking lot with a customized living SOC.” “For the first time in the country As it is a project that is being implemented, we will take care of it thoroughly so that it can become a good example of an urban regeneration accreditation project.”
