Gyeonggi-do, Korea's representative public delivery app “Delivery Express” departs in earnest on December 1st!
'Delivery Express' confirmed to start business on December 1st... Scheduled to start in Hwaseong, Osan, and Paju three pilot areas

-Reporter In-Gyu Ha
(Brake News, Northeastern Gyeonggi Province) = Gyeonggi-do public delivery app “Delivery Express” finally took off on December 1st.

Gyeonggi-do Co., Ltd. announced on the 18th that it will start piloting “delivery express” in Hwaseong, Osan, and Paju on December 1st.

It is the first to appear in eight months after approval of the “public delivery app development project” through the temporary board of directors in April.

The “delivery express” was promoted for small business owners who induce a fair competition in the delivery app market, which has virtually formed a monopoly system, and suffer from excessive fees and advertising costs.

In particular, it is the first digital platform project in the country to be promoted through public-private cooperation and is the main pillar of the Gyeonggi-do-style digital new deal.

Gyeonggi-do Corporation, an affiliate of Gyeonggi-do, took charge of public relations and planning for the success of the business based on administrative power, and a consortium operator, led by NHN Payco, was in charge of app development, etc. to establish an efficient system.

It also showed a remarkable appearance in the recruitment of affiliates for the success of the delivery app. As a result of recruiting franchisees in three pilot areas in less than a month from August, it proved the expectations of small business owners by collecting 3,699 franchisees over the original target of 3,000 during the pre-joining period (August 19th-September 30th).

Until now, 4,580 affiliated stores in the pilot area have achieved 153% of the target by signing up for the “delivery limited express” (as of November 17).

Various benefits and events are also being prepared for consumers in connection with local currency. The system has been prepared so that local currency that can only be used offline can be used online, and when paying with local currency, 10% discount as well as 5% discount coupons are provided, providing benefits for both consumers and small business owners. In addition, an event to apply for notification of app release is in progress.

Starting with this pilot area service, Gyeonggi-do Co., Ltd. plans to further supplement it by referring to user experiences in the future, and then gradually expand it to the entire Gyeonggi-do by 2021.

Gil-ryong Han, chairman of the Paju City Small Business Association, said, “The start date of the delivery express business has been confirmed, and it is expected that the small business people trapped in the biased delivery app market will breathe.” He said.

Lee Seok-hoon, CEO of Gyeonggi-do Co., Ltd., said, “I feel a new and heavier sense of responsibility as the'delivery express' runs constantly and is ahead of the launch. We will approach a win-win platform that provides a wide range of benefits to consumers as well as small businesses. I conveyed my determination.
